Overview

CYT offers classes over the course of three sessions during the school year: fall, winter, and spring. Children ages 5 -18 may select one theater class per session.  A variety of classes are offered in drama, voice, dance, musical theater, technical theater, specialty classes and more!  Classes are new and different each session and are appropriate for both new and returning students.  Students will foster mutual respect, develop confidence and create lasting friendships.

During the last week of the session, a high-energy Showcase is presented for family and friends. Every CYT student participates in the Showcase celebration.

Curriculum

CYT offers a wide variety of classes, and they all enable students to gain valuable theater arts training, develop confidence and make friends! Course offerings vary per session based on the interest and needs of each class area.

Teachers

A CYT Teacher’s mission is to train and instruct students in such a way as to promote the development of character, self-esteem, and confidence. CYT NYC teachers are professionally trained NYC-based artists who will inspire students to achieve their God-given artistic potential and pursue excellence while they seek to be a positive role model. They have been background checked and trained in the CYT methods of instruction and adhere to the CYT Mission, Values and outcome goals. Our teachers truly care about their students and provide a constructive and fun environment for them to learn.

Showcase

Parents, friends, and relatives are invited to attend CYT's Showcase performance on the last day / evening of classes, free of charge! Showcase is the grand finale of each session of classes, at which every class makes a 5-10 minute presentation of something they have learned and rehearsed during the session. Don't miss the action!

CYT@school

CYT@school is devoted to introducing performing arts to children, one school at a time, by providing a high-quality experience that is educational and enjoyable. Many schools have had to cut their arts programs, so CYT NYC is proud to partner with schools to bring theater arts training to their after-school programs! Session length and class content can be custom-tailored to fit each school's program needs and interests.

"I look forward to each and every class with excitement; knowing that I will learn more about the Lord, and have fun!!!"
